2050Today Awards

The 2050Today Awards aim to annually reward two institutions that have signed the 2050Today Charter for the concrete implementation of their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction action plan. Through this award, participating institutions can showcase their initiatives and commitment to the decarbonization of International Geneva.

The awards ceremony for this first edition took place during the 4th High-Level Meeting held on 3 December 2025, at the University of Geneva.

WINNERS 2025

Christophe De Kepper, Director General of IOC, Laurent Mineau, Executive Director of Client Relations at SIG.

The International Olympic Committee wins the 2050Today “Low Carbon” award

Between the 2016-2019 and 2021-2024 benchmark emissions, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has reduced its carbon footprint by 30%, an intermediate step toward its goal of a 50% reduction by 2030.

To achieve this goal, the IOC has set carbon budgets for each department, an approach that was recognized by the jury as innovative, inspiring, and replicable for the community.

Jean-Pierre Reymond, Executive Director of 2050Today, Ana Bory, co-founder of Miloo, H.E. Mrs Francisca E. Méndez Escobar, Ambassador and Permanent representative of Mexico, Daniel Van den Berg, co-founder of Miloo.

The Permanent Mission of Mexico wins the 2050Today “Engagement” Award

The Best Practices Handbook is a key component of the communication and training pillar of the Environmental Action Plan of the Permanent Mission of Mexico.
Its message is clear: with simple changes in how we work, consume, and interact with our environment, we can reduce our ecological footprint and help build a more sustainable present and future—from every office and every individual.

The jury highlighted this straightforward yet effective approach to translating international commitments into concrete actions, noting its replicability and wide reach, as it was distributed to more than 400 staff members at the Permanent Mission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The manuel is available in English, Spanish and French.
